Everyday tips

Care and Use

How to use a natural luffa sponge in the bath or kitchen, and how to keep it lasting as long as possible.

Bath and shower

  1. Wet the sponge and add your favorite soap or body wash.
  2. Use it as a wash tool in the bath or shower.
  3. Rinse thoroughly, squeeze out water, and hang or stand it where air can reach it.

Kitchen

  1. Use a dedicated kitchen sponge for dishes, sinks, and tubs.
  2. Keep bath and kitchen sponges separate so food prep and personal care stay apart.
  3. Rinse after use, squeeze out water, and let it dry fully between uses.

Make it last

  1. Rinse after every use and squeeze out as much water as you can.
  2. Hang or stand the sponge so air circulates around it.
  3. Once a week, wash it on the top rack of the dishwasher or in a laundry wash cycle, then air dry only.
  4. Replace it when the fibers break down, lose their spring, or keep a smell that washing does not fix. With good care, many last about 1 to 3 months.
  5. When it is worn out, it can go in the compost.
