Where it started
One day, with the whole family gathered around, we got to talking with the kids about luffas—where they come from, and all the ways you can use them. Alice, eight at the time, was so taken with the idea of growing them in our own garden that we told her she could plant them, tend them, water them, and someday turn them into something people could actually use in their homes.
She asked what we'd call the business. We'd just watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for about the hundredth time, so of course the songs were still stuck in our heads. That's when somebody suddenly blurted out the lyrics—Oofa Luffa, doompity doo.
And just like that, Oofa Luffa was born.
